Seeking part-time Minister of Music (organist/choir director) for 1 Sunday morning service and Wednesday evening choir rehearsal. The choir consists of parish members of various levels of reading proficiency and the Choral Scholars of 8 members from William & Mary College who sing during the school year. The Choral Scholars are auditioned paid singers who sing with the Parish choir as well as sometimes on their own. Special services during the 5 days of Holy Week, Christmas Eve, two Lessons and Carol’s services (one during Advent, and the other Christmas 1), Blue Christmas, and three Evensongs per year. Oberlinger two manual organ. Interested candidates should be proficient in organ, piano, and choral direction with a Bachelor of Music (preferred) and 5 years plus experience in church music ministry. Should be comfortable in all genres of church music from traditional, gospel, and contemporary sacred music. The parish is also looking for a candidate interested in launching a chorister program with the children, perhaps using RSCM. Four weeks paid vacation with an annual salary of $40,000. Seeking part-time Music Coordinator (organist, choir director) to plan, coordinate, lead and direct the parish music program for 1 Saturday evening mass and three Sunday masses and services on special Holy Days (under special contract for these). Adult choir sings at the Sunday 11:00 AM mass, and the Schola choir at the 2:00 PM Sunday mass. Austin (opus 1820) 2 manual organ. Interested candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in music or equivalent education and experience, as well as instrumental and/or vocal skills. One to three years of related and strong knowledge and appreciation of Roman Catholic liturgy required. Compensation is a minimum of $21.85 per hour at 20 hours per week. Vacation is earned at one day per month with a total of 12 days per year.
